Mothers - a Poem for Friday.

Weary this day sigh in relief
Sticks for the stove porridge to heat
Wood chopper not no axe for she
Mothers expend their energies
Always they have children to feed

Her fire is warm children are fed
Stories to read mother well read
Their teeth are brushed now off to bed
Children at peace their prayers said
Mothers world wide their prayers inbred

Running -- a "Poem" for Tuesday

Running Away

I'm running, running,
  but to where
I've been to places
  here and there
Remembering them
  hard to do
The ones I've written
  I'll show you

Birthdays are the best
  day to run
Some exotic place
  have some fun
Guatemala and
  local too
New York city
  China seemed new

Alaska Moscow
  Mexico
South America
  places to go
Holy Lands Istanbul
  Turkey
Even Iceland's fire
   called to me

Sweden and Denmark
  Norway's fiords
Germany Rome
  Austria's chords
Paris and London
   Egypt's tomb
Panama Canal
  take me home

I often tease about RUNNING AWAY FOR MY BIRTHDAY.  I've never gone by myself, Mrs. Jim and sometimes other family members run with me.  Link, click here, to a few "Running Away" posts on my other blog.  You could search it for most any of the places mentioned to see if I've been there.

These ARE nice places.  Most time when I write in first person not all of what you read is truly me.  But here, of these places I've visited after we retired or some in the summers before (I had six weeks off).  I've been to all the states, I didn't mention Hawaii and a few other nice places here.

A short flash Palindrome Poem for the Weekend

New here?
Wanting not to scare you
Not welcome
Away go you
PLEASE
PLEASE
You go away
Welcome not
You scare to not wanting
Here new?

I ginned this up while in church this morning. Welcome there is fine.  My Palindrome form mechanics seem okay but reading is not real swell.  Read more about them at the link above and here.

Flash writing is generally 55 Words maximum, sometimes for various reasons one will wish to publish exactly 55 Words.  This one has 26 words, the 13 of the first verse are repeated in reverse order for the second verse.
