Cell 23 is reserved ~~ a Poem for the #metoo effort

Cell 23
.
Cell 23 is reserved. Reserved for the men fulfilling their own uncontrolled beastly lusts.  These ladies, and millions more, who have been made their objects have had enough of being silent.

Not wanted and not liked, these antics towards the women have changed the lives of every one touched or spoken to. The actions and words are not forgettable and hardly ever forgiven.

We who have somehow been spared have a hard time emphasizing with them. That could be you or me but try a little harder. Can you remember when you were hurt in ways you won't ever discuss?

Have you been spoken to in harsh or demeaning ways you didn't deserve? Have you? Or perhaps if you try hard you can remember injustices done to you. Well, like you, these millions of women have memories that never will be erased.

(If you are a perpetrator, don't say you forgot.  Except for people lacking in mental capacity, perpetrators don't forget crass, hurting, immoral, and illegal acts to another person.  If you say you forgot YOU LIE.)

Worse ever so more for the victims because it affronts and insults their humanity.  Situations in life, perhaps from birth, which lend to their powerlessness to avoid . If you witness such an incident you can report it. And be a witness with testimony that can help.

And if you are a perpetrator STOP IT RIGHT NOW!

With the courage of so many in modern times, it is time for Cell 23's all over the land to be filled. Remember, you can help the effort in many ways, whether or not you have been an object.  There's an empty Cell 23 near you.

Women still hurting
Indelible scars remain
Let's make it better
Help fill your Cell 23
There is one near you, start now

 - Sherry wrote, "Women's strength and courage is validated by the Time Magazine devoting its cover this week to honour The Silence Breakers. Woman-strong, they stand together to acknowledge the brave actresses naming their abusers. The mighty are falling."  Read more at her link shown above.

 - My writing is of an experimental form to me, the Haibun .( http://www.writersdigest.com/whats-new/haibun-poems-poetic-form.)  Mine is modified as the Haibun by definition concludes with a three line Haiku or Senryū with seventeen syllables, 5-7-5.  I felt need for an extra couple of lines so opted for the Tanka which has fourteen more syllables with two additional lines, 5-7-5-7-7. Poetic Forms: Haiku, Senryu, Tanka, and Lunes (http://lestersmith.com/2009/05/poetic-forms-haiku-senryu-tanka-and-lunes/ )

a little poem for Tuesday

New Year is Coming

Goodbye is coming soon to this old year
Times when you've not done so well New Year comes
no time for rejoicing but don't you cry
New Year's coming, time for another start

(
Not for everyone, if you can, take it
I did, was reserved for college teachers,
college kids, and the like, a brand new start

Fresh beginning, resolutions no need)
